Firefox 2.0 Delayed
There are approximately 40 bugs in the under-construction Firefox 2.0 Beta 2, and about 100 that need to be addressed before the final goes out the door. In the meantime, the release of Firefox 1.5.0.7 -- the next security update for the current production version of the browser -- has been moved up to the first week of September.

Apple iPod's 8-Inch Screen Upgrade
Memorex has announced that they will be releasing a innovative device for Apple's iPod. Their new product is called the Memorex iFlip, and basically lets the iPod slip right into place for it to be used with its 8-Inch screen & integrated speakers. It is expected to be available in two colors, black, and of course white. If you have ever disliked watching movies or music videos on the iPods current screen size, this might just be the upgrade you've been waiting for: As the HD-DVD burners and recorders slowly begin to trickle out, Memorex today began shipping HD DVD-R media. The 15GB single-layer discs will cost $20 apiece. Maybe these blanks would work for archiving, but let's think about this for a minute. Spending $20 on a single blank HD DVD disc is not all that compelling when you can spend $50 and get a 200GB hard disk. Do the math: $1.33/GB for the HD DVD vs. $.25/GB for a SATA drive?
