The Hobby Council represents a wide range of activities for UB students to enjoy. Whether you want to learn a new hobby, or want to continue your passion, this Council is the place for you. Our clubs range from music, fitness, creating, playing and anything and everything to help you unwind and relax after your academic studies.
The purpose and mission of the UB Academic bowl is to foster friendly, academic competition within the UB community; to compete in team and individual academic contests regionally and nationally; finally, to work to establish such competition as a means towards achieving a complete collegiate education.
The purpose of the Arts and Crafts Club is to provide students with a creative, comfortable atmosphere to enjoy and create arts and crafts outside of class. Our mission cater an outlet from club members' artistic and creative interests and foster a common bond between student at University at Buffalo.
The UB Audubon Club's purpose is to introduce people to the world of birding to learn about their local fauna, from the numerous Black-capped Chickadees to the winter visiting Snowy Owls. Birding can be a daunting activity, given the nature of the community. We will provide students with the knowledge and tools (e.g. binocular tips, birding spots, learning identification) to enjoy the many birds that migrate through or call Western New York their home. In turn, we hope to inspire members to contribute to conservation efforts whether local or worldwide.
To have a club where students interested in makeup can come together to share tips, educate and embrace the creative aspect. Makeup is a form of self-expression and takes a lot of work to perfect. Events would range from tutorials, chats, guest speakers and skin focused informative sessions.
To enrich the undergraduate experience of all of the students at UB by making them aware of Bollywood via the media of dance in a theatrical and lyrical form.
Our primary purpose is to provide a social and recreational space whereby members can interact, read books, participate in discussions, and broaden their literary perspectives! Our meetings will comprise of two components: a brief review of chapters assigned for reading, followed by a discussion on different themes that might arise. We hope that through these discussions (on our selected readings) our members will benefit in two ways- by discovering an ability to read between the lines and analyze a range of meaning behind them, and connect them to larger ideas that operate in our society. Our curation of books will be mostly fiction and will touch on a variety of themes relating to sociopolitical issues, philosophical ideas, Utopian derivative genres, and science fiction.
The purpose of this organization is to bring students together to interact through a game of bowling. This would allow them to gather together outside of an academic setting and provide students with another option in their extra-curricular activities. Furthermore, it can bring students with different career tracks together and connect them over a friendly game. Our goal is to promote a healthier lifestyle through improving hand-eye coordination and strengthening muscles. This can be an easy way for students to get their daily workouts in. In addition to the physical health benefits, it would also provide mental health benefits. Bowling can be relaxing and stress relieving, understanding that students always have their plate full with school work.
Established in 2006 by J.R. Noble, UB Breakdance aims to promote the diversity of UB through B-boying, performing for a number of different clubs and student associations. With the further success of the organization, UB Breakdance will continue to extend its art, working with even more organizations in order to develop a better understanding of B-boying and Hip Hop within the community.

The goal of UB Dancesport team is to provide undergraduate students an environment that encourages and supports the teaching, training and performance of ballroom dance, in addition to to joining students with a common interest.
Debate Society will provide a structure for students to debate past and current topics or issues. The club will encourage students to actively research and evaluate current problems and present them in a parliamentary style debate.
The purpose of the Drawing Club is to provide students with a creative atmosphere where they can explore their drawing talents. This club allows students to step into a relaxing environment that encourages them to meet new individuals while enhancing their creativity, memory, and problem-solving skills. Different projects will help develop a student's use of contour, grid system, shading and use of color. Students will be able to use various forms of mediums, such as paint, colored pencils and markers, graphite, and charcoal, to explore what suits them best. This form of stress relief works to improve both the manual dexterity and perceptual ability of a student through various drawing activities.
The main purpose of the Ice Skating Club is to bring students of all skill levels together in order to foster an appreciation for ice skating. In turn, this will allow us to cultivate an environment ot promote physical and mental health while working towards promoting social bonds with likeminded peers.

Impulse Dance Force was founded in the Fall of 2004 by UB Alumni Samantha Sorrentino and Jaime Scheff. After observing a lack of dance classes available to non-dance majors, they sought to create a club that could incorporate any student at any level. Impulse is ran by students and functions much like a dance studio does. Every week we host numerous classes and at the end of the Fall and Spring semesters we put on a showcase for our friends and families. Styles of dance taught include jazz, ballet, pointe, tap, contemporary, modern, lyrical, hip-hop, and more! We welcome dancers of all skill levels! In addition, throughout the semester we host several social events and community service events – all great ways to meet your fellow IDF members and even help your community!
UB Kickline is a student-run dance club that combines movements of cheerleading and dance in an organized line dance. The club encourages the participation of all UB students to help promote school spirit across UB's campuses, express themselves through dance and meet new people.
A club for anyone who likes visual novels and wants to discuss about manga/manhwa/manhua/light novels/web toons, do voice acting or have a chance for original manga collaboration. We will have presentations about topics related to visual novels such as how they're made, their history, the different kinds of Eastern Visual Novels and even host lessons on the art of visual storytelling so there will be lots to learn and have fun with! The goal is to create a relaxing atmosphere for people who would like to hold philosophical, ethical or just casual conversations about the stories portrayed in visual novels such as manga which might not have been seen in other forms of media such as anime or comics.
Our mission is to provide students with a community of like-minded individuals who are interested in Nerf. We will have meetings to organize and plan events such as capture the flag and other Nerf related competitions.

The purpose of this club is to spread awareness of the sport of Spikeball. Another purpose is to the more advanced and competitive Spikeball players a place to polish up their skills, while also serving as an educational place to help the beginners become more familiarized with the game.
Our mission is To uplift the spirit of the University at Buffalo in the form of step and dance techniques. We are a competing step team that performs at events at the University at Buffalo as well as other schools around the area. We also participate in competitions in and out of state.
In recognition of that historical, simulation, and role-play gaming is practiced by millions, the UB Strategies and Role Players Association exists to unify those gamers attending the State University of New York at Buffalo, and others from the surrounding community. The UB Strategists and Role Players Association will serve as a forum to meet other gamers, so that games, both short and long term, can be organized and enjoyed.
